Frequently Asked Questions
Product FAQs
Q. What are your options for multi-vitamin/mineral formulas?
A. We carry four options: Multi Intense, Complete Multi 2.0, and Uber Nutrients - all available in regular or iron free- and Vasculoguard Px which is a multi vitamin specially formulated to support cardiovascular health.
Q. Should I take regular or iron free multi-vitamins?
A. Generally, women would take a vitamin with iron and men would take without iron. This is assuming males have an adequate intake of iron in the diet. Also, peri-menopausal women with a healthy diet can take the iron-free formula.
Q. You have several options for fish oil. How do I choose?
A. We offer fish oils with different ratios of EPA and DHA (essential omega-3's). If you are looking for support for inflammation and joint pain, we would recommend one with higher EPA. For cognitive support we would recommend higher DHA content. For general health, look for a good ratio of both EPA and DHA such as in our EPA-DHA 720 Blend or Uber Omega-3, or in our liquid fish oils.
Q. Why do two of your fish oils contain GLA and the others do not?
A. You should rotate a GLA-containing fish oil into your regimen from time to time to ensure proper balance of omega-3 and 6 fatty acids.
Q. What makes your supplements different from other brands?
A. Our top priority is quality. Poliquin products are tested thoroughly on several levels for a variety of contaminents. They are also tested for label claim, potency, and authenticity. You can be sure that what is listed on the label is exactly what you are getting. We do not use any artificial ingredients in our products, and we try to exclude ingredients that are common allergens whenever possible. To read our full policy statement, click here.
Q. Are your products kosher?
A. Most of our products are not kosher certified. Our Primal Bars are certified kosher.
Q. I see that your company advocates against consuming soy, but it seems to be an ingredients in some of your products. Can you explain?
A. The biggest concerns regarding soy are its allergenicity, its estrogenic effects, and the use of genetically modified crops. Soy’s allergenicity comes from the protein and the estrogenic effects come from its phytoestrogens. Neither of those show up in the soybean oil or the soy lecithin that are utilized in the manufacturing of some of our products, nor do they impact thyroid. The purpose is simply to act as an emulsifier or surfactant, allowing more stable oil solutions or more homogenous formulas which improves the consistency from batch to batch. The FDA allergy labeling laws require that products with any soy component must state “contains soy” and does not allow for drawing a distinction between the different compounds. In addition, we utilize only non-GMO soy sourcing for our products.
Q. Can pregnant women take your supplements?
A. Women who are pregnant, nursing, or may become pregnant should always check with their physician before taking any dietary supplements. We may have products that can benefit pregnant women but you should seek the advice of your physician first.,
Q. How do I know if a certain supplement will interact with my medication?
A. If you are taking medication, you should check with your doctor before taking any dietary supplements. Your prescribing doctor can advise you on possible interactions or contraindications.
Q. Why does my new bottle of the same product look/smell differently than the bottle I received in my last order?
A. Natural products are subject to normal variation in color and scent which can produce noticeable differences from lot to lot

A. When you successfully place an order, there should be a screen that appears that says "Thank you for your order" and you should see the receipt in your order history, or in your email. If you are unsure, call our office at 401-398-7845.
Q. My order is being declined but I believe that I do have the funds available on my credit card. What do I do?
A. There are usually 2 possible reasons. First, make sure the billing address matches the billing address registered to the card you are using for the order. Second, if you live outside of the US, there could be a fraud protection feature on your card and you need to call your bank to authorize the payment. *Do not make multiple attempts to process your payment. This could result in your bank holding funds. It may appear as though the payment has gone through but the funds should return to your account if the transaction was declined. this might take 1-2 days.
